So guys Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 is
finally here after that not so successfull first game City Interactive
set them selves a task to make a better more successfull game and i feel
they have done well after the first game being buggy slow and frankly
quite boring the second game has been imprvoed greatly visuals are
beautiful and gameplay is just so much better not to say the game is
perfect as it still needs some work but i will get to the negatives
later.
Okay so the posotives of this game the graphics have been
improved ALOT the Sniping now feels real or as real as we would expect
the Ai has been improved but still needs work i will get to why later,
the multiplayer is good fun nice balanced maps but still some server
problems not sure if in game or host? Next thing they have improved is
the story now im not the first game didnt have a good story but it wasnt
great the story in SGW2 is alot better and drops you right in to the
action, also in the story the stealth aspect has been fixed well kind of
but that kinda falls under the Ai more than stealth.

so now on to negatives The AI are still quite well... stupid your
spotter who you follow on most mission and sometimes directs you, seems
to lead you into almost sudden death i have found my slef many a time
following only a few feet away from him crouched in a ghillie suit in
bushes almost getting caught becuase the Team and enemy ai are not to a
high standard now this problem is minimal and easily passable with a
tiny bit more of checking where your team mate walks and who can see
him. Next problem i have found a total of about 3 glitches in the
campaign which had to be fixed with a load game 1st the enemy ai was
just stood there unarmed and not moving took no damage and didnt see me
standing in front of them. 2nd is a minor grapics glitch when i was on
the 1st mission i was walking through a river and the water just
dissapeared and i was walking through nothing but yeah like i said
minimal and the 3rd was i spawned with no weapons after dying but that
only took a checkpoint restart.
Okay so my overall
thoughts i would give this game an overall 7.5/10 as it still needs work
but is worth the money the campaign i would give 7/10 and multi a 8/10
as it is great fun when you get into a busy server of good snipers.
So that was my first review and comment what you think about the game and agree and disagree on.

So this weeks review is a game that i have been waiting to be made from when my young eyes first clamp eyes on the movie over a decade ago can you guess what it is from this memorable quote:
" They're coming outta the walls. They're coming outta the goddamn walls."yes it is of course the new game developed by Gearbox software and published by Sega Aliens colonial marines.

Difficulty : ultimate bad ass
(To get the best experience from this game you need to play with the brightness slider with the marine logo not visible that's right NOT visible and on the difficulty setting ultimate bad ass, this will give you the ultimate aliens experience.)
On first loading up the disc you get the feeling that this game is gonna be epic on a massive scale theirs no denying that this game belongs in the alien franchise with title screen showing the "Sulaco" ship from the aliens film floating though space with lv-426 in the background with its blue glowing atmosphere.
You start the game watching a worse for wear looking corporal hicks leaving a distress message for anyone who may pick it up. You then get into the opening cut scene where you see the marines getting ready after responding to the distress message left by hicks.
finally after a lengthy cut-scene you finally get your hands on the legendary pulse rifle from the movie as you automatically check the clip you cant help feeling this is gonna be huge. You walk forward and open the first pressure door which leads you on to a glass walkway which connects your ship the USS Sephora to the distressed USS sulaco. Its not more than half way across this fragile glass platform where the game kicks in, a massive explosion can be seen from the sulaco side of the walkway which sends a shockwave down the walkway throwing you to the floor as your try to recover you see a marine get smashed into the glass pain above you killing him instantly,as you regain you space feet and get back up you make your way to the Sulaco a message comes in on your intercom telling you that you have 20mins to complete your mission before the walkway collapses (despite this warning this mission is not timed) as you finally get to the Sulaco blast doors you cant help but feel whats gonna be waiting for you. check out the video
mutliplayer of this game pitches a team of marines and xenomorphs against each other in various modes. getting kills earns you xp which can be used to unlock new upgrades for you character ranging from upgrades for guns for marines to new heads for you chosen xenomorph. where you can only be your chosen customized character as the marines unless you bought the limited edition of the game like i did as the aliens you can choose from solider, spitter and lurker each with there own unique set of skills.
I would love to say that this game has everything you could ever want from a game but i cant, the overall graphics quality of ps3 game play is shocking and takes me back to my N64 days at points landscapes are plain and no great detail has been given which is a real shame, campaign story was lacking depth and in parts felt like whole chunks where missing from the story, even playing on ultimate bad ass setting i never felt over whelmed by aliens or difficulty. If you had the pleasure and money to go to E3 to test this game or seen the video of E3 demo you must feel as i do robbed of so much.
so quick round up of this game overall a let down but great pick and play game with some good features, graphics and story greatly let this game down so three stars.
